What is a certificate of interest?
A certificate of interest is a statement that shows you the amount of interest you have earned on your savings in a tax year. A tax year runs from 6 April one year to 5 April the following year.
You can use a certificate of interest to help you complete your tax return.
Ways to get your certificate of interest
If you manage your account online, here are the steps to view and download your certificate.
On our website

Log in to our website.

Select the account you would like a certificate of interest for.

Select ‘Account Options’.

Select ‘Manage Tax’.

From the drop-down menu, select the year you want.

Select ‘Print’.

Download the statement by selecting ‘PDF’ or ‘Save as PDF’.
On our mobile app

Log in to our app.

Select the account you would like a certificate of interest for.

Select ‘Manage account’.

Select ‘Interest statement’.

Choose the relevant tax year.

Select ‘View interest statement’.

Select ‘Save statement’.
If you manage your accounts in branch or over the phone, here's how you can ask for your certificate.

Visit us
You’ll need to bring your:
photo ID (such as a passport or driving licence) or another type of ID that we accept
passbook or record card (if you have one).
Write to us
Your letter will need to include:
the account number for the relevant account
instructions to send a certificate of interest and the dates or tax year you want the statement to cover
your passbook or record card (if you have one).
your signature and a date.
You should send your letter to your nearest branch.
