Definitions

* Interest will be paid gross (that is before the deduction of income tax) to non-taxpayers subject to eligibility and the required registration. Otherwise interest will be paid after deduction of income tax at the appropriate rate. Please note that gross interest can only be paid to customers aged 16 or over if they are the named account holder.

** Net rates (that is after the deduction of income tax) shown are for illustrative purposes only. The interest you earn on this account will currently be taxed at the rate of 20%.

*** AER means Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and added each year.

How can I open a Club Savers Account?

It's easy.

You just need to choose the club you wish to support and complete the online application.

You can then start saving immediately. We will give you an account number and send you an information pack. Your Club Savers Account password will be sent to you separately.

After I have opened a Club Savers Account, how quickly will I need to start saving?

The sooner you start saving, the better for you - and your Club.

You must pay in at least the minimum amount within 30 days of the date of your application being accepted. This is £100 if you're over 16, or £1 if the account is being opened for children aged under 16.

How do I save into the Club Savers Account?

It's up to you.

You can make regular savings, invest a lump sum, or just put away whatever you can, whenever you can.

You can arrange a standing order with your bank or building society for regular payments to be made into your Club Savers Account, or you can transfer money into your Club Savers Account at any time. Just quote your Club Savers Account number and sort code.

What's the maximum amount I can withdraw from my Club Savers Account each day?

As long as there's enough money in your account, you can take out up to £10,000 per day from your Club Savers Account.

What's the minimum balance I can have in my Club Savers Account?

For over 16s, it's £100.
For under 16s, it's £1.

What's the maximum I can deposit into the Club Savers Account?

The maximum amount that you can deposit with N&P is £1 million.

Can I pay cheques into my Club Savers Account?

No you can't.

You can only deposit money in your Club Savers Account by transferring funds from a bank or building society account.

How do I arrange for payments to be transferred to my Club Savers Account from another account?

Just give your bank or building society the sort code and account number of your Club Savers Account.

Is there a maximum number of Club Savers Accounts that I can have?

No, you can have as many Club Savers Accounts, and support as many clubs as you like.

Remember though, that it might be better for you to have all your money in one account, because the more money you have in one account, the higher the rate of interest it could earn.

Can I open a joint Club Savers Account?

No, sorry this is not possible.

Do I become a member of N&P when I open a Club Savers Account?

Yes you do.

The Club Savers Account is a share account, which makes you a member of N&P. This means you can join N&P's general meetings and you have a vote on what's decided in them.

When will my account start earning interest?

Cheques paid into an account paying a variable rate of interest will earn interest from the second working day after the day we receive them. Cheques paid into an account paying a fixed rate of interest will earn interest from the day we receive them.

Money paid into your account in cash or by Bankers’ Automated Credit will earn interest from the day we receive it. Interest is then paid for each full day your money is invested, and will be added to your account in January each year (unless otherwise stated).

Your money will earn interest up to, but excluding, the day you withdraw it.

Can I be certain that online banking is absolutely secure?

You can with N&P.

Our online system is extremely robust. It is constantly checked by both internal and external experts. Advanced encryption technology scrambles all sensitive data to provide total confidentiality.

You are given a unique customer number and a 10-character password. When you use the service for the first time you might want to change this password for one that's more easily remembered - but don't write it down or make it too obvious, so that someone else could guess it.

What if I'm unhappy with the terms of my account?

Just tell us.

We make it our aim to do the best we can for all our customers. If within 14 day's (7 day's for all Fixed Rate Bond products) you decide that this account is not for you, we will be happy to transfer your money to another N&P account.

Or if you prefer, we will return your money to you without any charge being made, or notice being required.

What computer hardware and software will I need?

The minimum software requirements are a browser with support for 128-bit SSL encryption. The system has been designed to operate at its best with your monitor set to 800 x 600 resolution or higher.
