The people who interviewed me saw my potential.
It was a great opportunity. I moved here from Colombia and wanted to learn the language. I then started professional studies which led me to the opportunity of working at N&P. When you read a job advertisement and you see "equal opportunities" you don't really know how much they mean it. But the people who interviewed me saw my potential.
The best thing about working here is the support for my studies. I am currently studying for my ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). N&P pays my annual subscription, exam fees, the revision or tuition course and 3 days study leave for each exam.
It's not only the financial support. My line manager has been my mentor, and if there are courses that would help my development, she sends me on those. Just last month I went on an internal communications course, which was really helpful.
It is a very professional environment and the team is very supportive in so many ways. You get the flexibility in your working hours - ideal if you have other commitments. For instance, there are roadworks on my route in to work at the moment, so I am able to start half an hour earlier and leave half an hour earlier to make things easier for me. It's a very fair way of working.
