PASSPORT, TICKETS, EHIC CARD?

As well as taking out travel insurance, you should make sure you have an EHIC card (European Health Insurance Card) which replaces the old E111 form. You can pick up an application form at any Post Office, or you can apply online.

BE HONEST

When applying for Travel Insurance, be honest about any existing medical conditions you may have. If you need to claim and you haven't told us something that may be relevant, your cover may not be valid.

PACK YOUR POLICY

Take your policy documents with you, and make sure you leave a photocopy at home.

A LITTLE HOLIDAY READING

Read your policy before you go and make sure you know what telephone number to call in case of an emergency. Check what activities are covered - there's no need for winter sports cover if you plan to stay on your sunbed all week.
