About Yorkshire Building Society

The Yorkshire has its head office in Bradford and is the UK's second largest building society, with approximately 3.5 million members, 224 branches, 3,850 staff and assets of approximately £33 billion.

It has continued to demonstrate its financial strength despite the tough economic conditions, while delivering value and financial security to its members. The Yorkshire has a strong capital position and made a pre-tax profit of £115 million in 2010.

Yorkshire merged with Barnsley Building Society on 31 December 2008, Chelsea Building Society on 1 April 2010 and us, here at N&P, on 1 November 2011. All these trading names have been retained as separate and distinct brands within the Yorkshire.

More information about Yorkshire Building Society can be found on its website www.ybs.co.uk
